The biggest lies
Lately I seen this tweet:
So I copied the list of points mentioned by @catalinmpit and other commenters. To be honest: we did them all.
Procrastination:
- I’ll test it later.
- This is just a temporary fix.
- I’ll document this later.
- Lemme brute force it now and I’ll make it dynamic later
- TODO’s
- I’ll refactor that code later
Estimation:
- This is not going to take long.
- Yeah, it’s almost ready…
- I’m 90% done
Confidence:
- Weird. it worked on my machine
- Works locally.
- It works! I will understand why later.
- This should work.
- Just follow this simple guide
And other lies:
- That case would never happen in real life.
- Just hardcode the path. It won’t change.
- It’s just CSS
- That change doesn’t need to be tested.
- No meetings scheduled today
- Works as designed
- This is only a POC
- It’s a backend issue.
